MEWE

Multisensory Exhibition

MeWe is a multisensory exhibition originating from the original idea of Filipe Canto e Castro. Among many other things, it is a perspective on the senses celebrated in the feminine.

An artistic journey or a piece in 7 acts resulting from the author's fascinated and captivated view of Women. Seven rooms, seven exhibitors. A sensory portal where narratives, immersions, short movies, tastings, performances, video, and photography combine.

An authorial exhibition, which is the vision of a collective simultaneously confiscated and rescued from the author's childhood, which for various reasons and experiences makes Filipe see in the female figure the cornerstone of all structures.

The names of the MeWe rooms are Manifestation, Discovery, Darkroom, Perspective, Intimacy, Wall, and Singu(Lar). All of them offer absolutely unique, profound, and immersive experiences. Besides the rooms, we will have special moments happening, including Tastings, curated by Chef Guilherme Spalk; honest and transparent accounts from the author and the team; Sensory Hugs; the Confessional; Meetings; and talks with sometimes unexpected guests to discuss controversial topics and make the audience think differently, and above all, question.

The project has a large team working on it. Currently, our core team consists of the author, an architect, two producers, a photographer/videographer, and a designer; a team of five directors of photography, including prominent names in Portuguese cinema:

Rui Poças, Carlos Lopes, Luís Branquinho, André Szankowski, and Lisa Persson;

Art Director Luís Monteiro;

Perfumer Lourenço Lucena;

Chef Guilherme Spalk, specializing in sensory gastronomy;

A large cast of incredible actresses such as São José Correia, Ana Brandão, and Sandra Faleiro, totaling a stellar cast of fifteen actors;

A creative team of artists who will create exclusive MeWe collections, part of the merchandise available at the Exhibition shop.
